Life Insurance if you are Overweight or have Build problems

How much you weigh or your build is one of the top life insurance underwriting critiera that the underwriters look for right from the start.  Carrying a few extra pounds has shown that it can lead to other health issues, such as high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes. 

Be smart and if you are a little heavy or if you carry an abnormally amount of muscle mass speak to your broker and give them details as to why.  If you are big boned let them know all the other good in your life, like a really health diet or how much you exercise etc..  Read some of the article below to find out the information the insurance company will need to quick quote you or to underwrite a complete file. 

Overweight (Build) and Life Insurance

Someone’s build is one of the oldest life insurance risk characteristics. Starting back in the early 1900′s is when people who were described as being overweight were offered higher rated offers from the life carriers.

People who are deemed overweight or having build issues statistically have and increased risk for Coronary Heart Disease, Diabetes, Hypertension and Hyperlipidemia. This is whey the underwriters have build chart guidelines that they follow in underwriting someone’s life.
