American General Life or AIG Life!

AIG Insurance is short for American International Group, Inc. (AIG) is one of the world's largest insurance and financial services companies in terms of asset size. AIG companies have business interests in more than 130 countries around the world. The history of AIG is quite fascinating to say the least, I will not post the entire history here but if interested do a Google search for AIG history and it will give you the whole story.

AIG Insurance serves the following lines of Insurance, commercial, institutional, property-casualty and life insurance. They continue to be one of if not the largest writers of commercial, life and industrial insurance. Not to mention their retirement, financial services and asset management subsidiaries.

AIG’s consumer finance division is run here in the US by American General Finance. The retirement services division is run by AIG Sunamerica and AIG VALIC, which is a leader in asset management for institutional and individual accounts.

My recommendation on AIG Insurance is that they are a very highly rated and stable company. They are very competitive and affordable for a number of different insurance lines, such as life insurance and property and casualty. But like in most situations, do your homework and make sure your getting the best rates.
